The Solar Tigir and Tea

While fooling around with some mirror tiles
thinking about a simple portable solar cooker / tea heater
I accidentally created a Solar Cat heater.
Tiger (R.I.P.) pointed this out by rushing over the instant
I  had made a warm spot on the floor.
The quick cam couldn't quite handle the contrast range
of light and shadow but it tried.

Hot Tea
Room temperature water in a black cup measured 125 degrees after 1/2 hour. I had to move the two outer mirrors once to keep the reflected sunlight on the black cup. The temperature stopped rising at that point so I drank the tea after the handle had cooled enough to hold. Just right.
Bag Tea
Next  time the cup was wrapped in a small oven baking bag to help keep heat in. Room temperature water in a cup measured 160 degrees after 3/4 hour. You can see the reflected sunlight paths on the rug. The cup is hit with direct sun, sun from 4 reflectors, and before the morning sun gets too high, also additional light from the mirror  on the bottom.
